Simpler version: I deal ~4.5 dps against a green dragon with that setup. Depending on luck and stuff, a poisoned dagger should get one or two activations during the kill time, for 6 or 12 damage. That's 24 or 48 Strength XP per dragon that you aren't getting, and you have to move to a new dragon faster.
The Abby dagger is the only melee weapon this is viable with because any other poisoned one sucks DPS wise. And that's justified because it's like 18mil and requires high slayer to get.
